NO WAY IN HELL!!!
We were just discussing fear of bridges at work today. I think I'll have to show 'em all this french thingamabridge.
I have been across the Pontchartrain bridge a few times and I HATED IT. At an assembly in San Francisco we had to cross a brige that was barely above the water and I think was about 5 miles long. Hated that one too.
I've pretty much always been afraid of bridges but not morbidly so. Now it's more the fear of having a panic attack sneak up while on this sort of bridge. How bad would that be!
have any of you or people that you know such as relatives or friends, made a very significant donation to the wts?
by that i mean property, or money in excess of let's say $10 000. .
enriching an already very rich organisation has to be moronic, they are the ones that should be helping the poor among them the proverbial orphans and widows.
I can't remember ever putting anything in a donation box. I'm sure I must have at some point but it could not have been much. Part of it was always being broke but it just felt very strange to me to even walk by a contribution box!
My sister told me that they asked the brothers to "loan" money for some project or other - I don't remember what - and it would be paid back by a designated time. Wouldn't you know, just as that time was approaching they started the guilt trip of "oh how wonderful if you brothers could see it in your hearts to not ask for YOUR money back..." routine. Her dumbass husband gave in and they never saw a penny repaid. Three small kids and they were giving money to a filthy rich organization of beggars.
well, this weekend, i went on an outing with the wife to see the sights.
we went up to austin, georgetown, and then across to lampassas - where i filled up with fuel at a local station.. on the way to the hotel we were staying at, a pimple-faced kid in a honda pulls up alongside me, and gives me this 'staredown' look.
very serious this kiddo.
LOL Very funny Jim. I love it!
would you change anything about yourself or are you pretty content with who you are?
Not really. I liked FredomFrog's description of her "artist" world. It used to be that way for me but for years and years everything is just bland and nondescript. Muddling through I suppose as if I'm merely a bystander. It just doesn't matter. Or, to put another way, "Why bottha?"
just wondering if anyone else has aquired the "evil" laugh after they stopped being a jw?.
few months ago with-in my family (the non-witness side) i confided about many of the things i have come to learn from this site and other sources.
being as some familys do, word got around about my "apostate" thinking.
I have a lazy eye, an evil giggle and a warped...nevermind.
i have a shelf full of cds that had to be searched individually every time i needed something.. well i have the program for you.. visual cd.
this nifty little freeware program will read all the file titles on a cd, your hard drive or just 1 folder and creates an index.
you can then save the index.
I'll have to try that out but not only do I have CD's & DVD's by the handfuls that I have no idea what is on them, I have a few Hard Drives from bygone computers that I need to pull things off of. It's going to be a job but I've got to get it done and get myself organized!!
ive always been a horror movie fan, although i didnt watch as many when i was a dub.
i remembered watching this made to tv movie when i was a kid, i loved it.
i have so many favorite horror movies i can't pick just one; here is the clip from one i remembered watching on tv; before the days of chucky, lol.
When I was little I saw a movie with Vincent Price - "The Last Man On Earth". Scared me enough so that I always remembered it. Saw it on ebay or amazon a while back and bought it. Geesh I must've been an easily scared kid!! lol
i sit here in my lonely condo playing xbox live, surfing the net and thinking how much my life sucks... i also have a police scanner on my desk that is tuned into the local fire dept... there was an accident on the local bypass with one confirmed death... suddenly my life doesn't suck so much...were only a hairs breath away from death...
Ever notice how many small crosses are along side the highways? Those things are everywhere! :(
ive heard through different research ive done along with people ive talked too that there was a 1975 "scare" in which the time was supposed and the end was at hand
is that true
I bemoaned the fact that even if 1976 should roll around, most assuredly SuperBowl X would be the last football game to ever be played. Talk about scare!!
Gee, how many years ago has it been now? Ah, yes...SuperBowl 42 is next I believe. Now THAT's SCARY!!!!
